Nomad's Lamai had been a pretty long time coming but the wait has definitely been worthwhile. Located on the very scenic Wogakuria Kopjes, around 30 minutes from the Mara River crossings, the camp could not have better views and location in our opinion. Featuring an infinity swimming pool, stunning vistas from throughout the property and the kind of bush chic that regularly appears in magazines, this is certainly one of the top, if not the top, property in the northern region of the Serengeti at the moment.The rooms have all been cleverly incorporated into, onto and around the rocks that form the kopje and, as such, they each have a unique and intriguing position, both with privacy and expansive views.The rooms have been very well thought out and designed with each offering something slightly different from the next. Featuring spacious and airy rooms, his and hers shower rooms with ensuite facilities and expansive decks on which to relax, there is nothing that hasn’t been considered or catered to. It is worth bearing in mind that this is not really a camp for the less mobile.
Karatu Simba Lodge where you’ll experience the peace and quiet of the Tanzanian countryside. Karatu Simba Lodge has 23 tented camps and is located about a thirty-minute drive from the gate of Lake Manyara National Park, approximately four kilometres off the main road to the entry of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp is at the top of a 600 metre escarpment above the northern tip of the lake. With a range of room sizes including a two-bedroomed family room and a spacious and secluded honeymoon tent, you should find your perfect match.The main lodge is a large, thatched building, open-fronted facing the garden, valley and lake. Eserian restaurant has a buffet station and individual tables where you can savour Asian and continental cuisine as well as African dishes, and leads out to a terrace.
Set in the west of the Serengeti National Park, has 24 unique tented chalets, the 14 standard rooms, or to the two presidential suites. The tented chalets are situated so you can enjoy either the sunrise and the sunset in comfort, with views of the Mbalageti River Valley or the Dutwa Plains. These chalets are designed beautifully, mixing the natural design of the plains to the needs of the lodge. The back of the rooms are made of local rock, whilst the rest of the chalet is made of tent canvas, which creates a cooling environment to live in. The roofs are thatched to help blend into the environment, making it more likely for animals to be curious. Each chalet has a private veranda with deck chairs that can be used to enjoy the bountiful view of the Serengeti. The chalets comprise a bedroom, separate sitting area and en-suite bathroom, all designed with driftwood furnishings. The bathrooms have beautiful oversized baths that are so inviting after a long day in the bush building up African dust.
