Day 1: Arrive at KIA and transfer to Arusha City
After you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by Maasai Wanderlust representative and be transferred to Arusha City. In the evening there will be a briefing with our chief guide, who will also make sure you are ready to begin the climb.
Day 2: Rongai Gate- Simba Camp (2,020m-2,700m)
After breakfast, you will travel by vehicle to Kilimanjaro National Park's northern entrance: Nalemoru Gate. After the quick formality of acquiring climbing permits and registering with the search and rescue service, the group will start trekking up to Simba Camp. Remember not to hurry and always keep a comfortable pace "Pole pole". By the time you reach the camp, our professional mountain crew will prepare everything necessary, put tents and cook dinner for you.
At night you may experience discomfort associated with acclimatization to the high altitude: because of a reduction in your waking breathing pattern, your body gets less oxygen than during the day. Taking altitude into account, you may therefore start feeling sick and have a headache. Pay attention to your own body and tell your guide if you start feeling any symptoms of altitude sickness. This will be your first day at this altitude, so it is strongly recommended you heed the following instructions from this point on:-
Day 3: Simba Camb- Second Cave Camp (2,700m- 3450m)
Early in the morning after breakfast, the group will depart from Simba Camp to start trekking towards your second high altitude camp: Second Cave Camp (3,480 m). This route is rather easy and will only take around 3 hours, so when you reach the camp you will still have ample time to rest and explore the surrounding area. After lunch you will have a couple hours to rest, followed by an acclimatization hike in the direction of Kikilewa Camp (3,650 m) on a stretch of the Rongai Route at a short distance with a 100-meter gain in altitude, after which you will hike back down to Second Cave Camp.

Day 4: Second Cave Camp- Kikelewa Camp (3450m- 3650m)
After breakfast you will begin trekking to Kikilewa Camp (3,650 m), where you can see Kibo Volcano at its finest (barring cloudy weather). This will be a relief day, so after lunch you will have time to sleep before the next trekking towards Mawenzi Tarn Camp. In the evening after dinner the guide will check health conditions of the each person of the group and give the necessary instructions for tomorrow's trekking.
Day 5: Kikelewa Cave- Mawenzi Tarn Camp (3,650m- 4,330m)
After an early wakeup and breakfast, the start of trekking to Mawenzi Tarn Camp through the high Kikelewa valley is relatively short but steeper. Magnificent and dramatic closer views of both Mawenzi and the ice field on the crater rim. The vegetation zone becomes very dry and ends shortly before you reach desert like around Mawenzi Tarn beneath the towering Mawenzi summit, Kilimanjaro's second summit. When you reach the camp, you will have lunch and a two-hour rest, after which there will be an acclimatization hike towards Mawenzi Volcano with a 200-meter gain in altitude, followed by a hike back down to Mawenzi Tarn Camp, where you will have dinner in the evening.

Day 6: Mawenzi Tarn Camp- Kibo Hut (4,330m- 4,703m)
This day will be spent trekking towards Kibo Hut (4,703 m). The landscape will change significantly to give way to a rocky semidesert. The actual trekking is not very difficult; just remember to stick with an appropriate pace to keep up your strength for the trekking to Kilimanjaro's summit. When you reach the camp, we recommend you sleep well, avoid strenuous activity, and drink as much as you can, because that very night you will be ascending Uhuru Peak(5,895 m).
Day 7: Kibo Hut- Uhuru Peak- Horombo Hut (4703m- 5895m- 3,720m)
Wake up around midnight and have breakfast before you start hiking up into the night on the steepest and demanding part of the Kilimanjaro. If you are lucky enough, the moonlight will light your steps up on the northwest through the most challenging heavy loose scree and boulders trails all the way to Stella point. Each pair of climbers will get a personal guide for the entire ascent to monitor your physical and mental conditions. At Stella point, you will have a short rest and welcome a new dawn with amazing and stunning sunrise. Then continue to Uhuru Summit, the highest point in Africa and the world’s highest freestanding peak where you create memories of lifetime. Take time to celebrate with your fellow trekkers, you can descend to the nearest glacier if desired. Then you will return to Kibo Camp and after a two-hour rest continue your descent to Horombo Camp (3,720 m).
Day 8: Horombo Hut- Marangu Gate(3,720m- 1,800m) – Zanzibar
Wake up and have an early breakfast as usual, then pack your belonging and descent to Mandara hut. At Mandara, you will have lunch before you continue descending through the most beautiful cloudy, foggy and lush moorland forests to Marangu Gate. Lastly, we will present you with your commemorative certificates. After tipping and saying welfare to your mountain crew, you will be transferred back to L Arusha City. You will be dropped off at the Airstrip and fly to Zanzibar. Upon landing in Zanzibar,you will be transferred to Nungwi and check in at the hotel and have time to relax.
Day 9: Nungwi Beach Relaxation
You will have full day to enjoy the hotel amenities. You are recommended to enjoy swimming and simple massage to help you refresh your body after spending five days on safari.In the evening, head to the beach t mimgle with new friends, both fellow tourists and locals, while cruising on traditional dhow and wnjoying the sunset.
Day 10: Safari Blue -Zanzibar Stone -Spice Farm
At 8:00 am Trip to Safari Blue. A full day sailing/snorkeling/sunbathing on a traditional dhow and seafood barbecue. Setting sail from Fumba, you will explore the Menai Bay where dolphins are often sighted. When dropping the anchor at Kwale sandbank, you can snorkeling the coral reefs. At Kwale Island you’ll be served a buffet of grilled fish, lobster, calamari, chickens and coconut rice.The boat sails to a stunning natural lagoon where there is opportunity to swim, before the day is over and back to your hotel. check out with your luggages and drive to Stone Town passing through a few stops. You will see and taste the tropical fruits, spices plantation or plots in the island. A variety of spices plants used as ornament, medicines, flowers, fruits and another interesting flora can be seen during spice tour and visit to Kidichi bath built in 1850 by the first Sultan for his wife Sheharzad (grand daughter of Fateh Ali Shah of Persia .
Day 11: Stone Town Tour -Departure
After breakfast, head for Stone Town City Tour around the historical culture and architectural important town of Zanzibar with a century history. It includes a visit to former slave market site, now stands as Anglican church built in 1871, town market, visit the Zanzibar Memorial Museum, House of Wonder built in 1883 (Beit-Al-Ajab), Old Arab Fort, Palace Museum, Old Indian dispensary (Cultural Center) to Maruhubi Palace Ruins via Living Stone House. Soon after hotel check out process, pick up from hotel transfer to the Zanzibar Harbor/ International Airport at the time as indicated on the fight tickets.
