20 Minutes: Transfer to Lake Duluti
Morning at 0830, You will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha town just a 20-minute drive away from Arusha, in the shadow of Mount Meru lays a crater lake. The Wameru tribe of the area named it Duluti.
3 Hours: Canoe Safari
Lake Duluti is formed inside a volcanic crater and has water throughout the year, mainly from groundwater and seasonal rainfall. The crater is a subsidiary vent to Mount Meru (4566m) that towers over the lake. Glide across the smooth surface of this small Crater Lake and view birdlife seldom seen; Giant kingfisher, Fish eagle, Darters and many more. Surrounded by forested crater walls this is a very special and quiet 1,5 hour canoeing experience .
2 Hours: Lake Duluti Forest Hike
After your 1.5hr on Canoe, it will take 2 hours to stroll round its thickly-wooded perimeter, through the Duluti Forestry Reserve, accompanied by a most informative ranger where many different bird species can be found.
20 Minutes: Transfer to Arusha City
Late afternoon leave the park to head back to your accommodation in Arusha City.
